Long Story Short
Hi, I’m Anthea.
My friends call me Bun, usually because I am somewhere between friendly, fast-talking and mildly impossible to fit into one job title. I have worked across websites, apps, content, automation, design, training, marketing and business problem-solving for years. For a long time, AppCity helped all sorts of industries build digital things.
Then tourism happened.
After years of travelling, overlanding, sleeping in caves, staying in beautiful hotels, chasing views, meeting strange creatures and finding myself equally happy around campfires or conference tables, the industry started to feel less like a niche and more like home.
Tourism has personality. It has humour. It has grit. It has people trying to run beautiful businesses while battling bad Wi-Fi, old websites, tangled calendars, booking platforms, WhatsApp chaos and previous designer trauma.
That is where AppCity fits in.
We help tourism businesses get grounded online, without making the process feel intimidating. We explain things properly, solve problems patiently, and build digital systems that owners and teams can actually understand and use.
What makes AppCity different?
AppCity is not a traditional web agency, and that is probably a good thing. We help tourism businesses untangle the digital bits that get in the way of bookings, guest communication and growth. Websites, WhatsApp systems, booking platforms, calendar syncing, guest guides, flip files, emails, content and the small technical gremlins that tend to appear at the worst possible time. AppCity is led by Anthea Forder, also known as Your Favourite Geek, and supported by a trusted network of designers, developers, photographers, writers, automation specialists and platform partners. That means you get one person who understands your business, your context and your chaos, with the right specialists brought in when the job needs extra hands. We work with you, not around you. The goal is not to build something mysterious and leave you confused. The goal is to make your digital setup feel more useful, more manageable and more aligned with the way your tourism business actually works.

At AppCity, we operate like a well-run hospitality team. I, Anthea, am your front-of-house, engaging directly with you to bring your vision to life. Behind the scenes, Andrew and Jason are our back-of-house engine room. Andrew brings his experience as both an accommodation owner and coder, while Jason brings his full stack of coding, developing, and design skills. They ensure everything runs smoothly, always with a smart, simple approach. While I handle the conversations, they keep the engine running.
